Im not new to my 4-runner, but im new to the forum! Hi everyone...
Of course I start out with a problem. Here it is.
At no perticular time my 1992 V6 4-runner the brake light comes on, this doesnt happen at any perticular time and its not the low level light
either. Here is the catch, its not 100% bright, its faded, and gets brighter and darker sometimes. I did check the reservior float and that causes either the light to go out or all on bright, nothing to do with it being faded...
thanks in advance this problem is driving me nuts, no I dont want to cut the light feed, I want to know what it is...

Just cut the light feed...just kidding.
Did you check the sensor that goes with the light?

is there any pattern to when it does it? and youre certain that your fluid is full?

Yeah the fluid is full, I went ahead and played with the switch, but as I mentioned its only doing a all on or all off action. My problem is the light is on, but really really dim and gets brighter and dimmer at no perticular time. I know it sounds weird, but a buddy of mine has the same problem so it must be something dumb we are missing.
thanks

ok today for fun I pulled apart the dash to fix one problem, so while i was playing I went for the e-brake switch. OK so the switch is the same thing, it only does a ALL on or ALL off, nothing to make it slightly dim. This is really stumping me, especially since a friend of mine has the same problem and its getting brighter and brighter and more frequlent.
HELP!

No specific experiece with this problem, but the symptoms are characteristic of a ground somewhere there isn't supposed to be one. These things are a PITA to find, too.

one of im sure many more to come. This forum could be really good, we need more people talking on here. There are a lot of simple questions, but people just ask and go, so we need to answer then and keep the info rolling.
I must see like 10 4-runners a day besides mine and I only live like 10mins from work hehe

If I saw that many 4Runners I would be in heaven lol. Its kinda hard to keep a forum going when there are what seems to be three people that post regularly. Its kind of strange that some people ask a question then never come back to see the answer or reply to our questions. ??? their loss. Check the Off Topic section. I have an idea but I'll post it in a more visible place.

haha yeah maybe its a maryland thing.
Not like a post count of 34 is all that high though hehe, im sure maybe some of us can just post info and experiences with 4-runners parts or cars in general and I think more people will stay, but with forum sections with like 10 topics most people wont come back. I wasnt going to come back either but this problem had me a little desperate.......
I will post some info and experiences this weekend maybe, im moving again. I would post some pics of my ride, but no DIG cam.

I registered on here to learn more about 4Runners but all I have learned is that most people have no idea about their ride lol. Yeah 34 posts isn't that great but I have only been here for a month and I check it almost everyday. The highest post count anyone has here is 200 something...wow. I don't have a DIG camera either. I just get a disposable cam have the pics developed on a disc then load them on the computer, upload them to
www.photobucket.com and paste the URL code here. Its simple haha yeah right. When I get a chance i will post more pics of my 4Runner's interior and suspension. Maybe I should clean it first
