OK to Support Car on Axle Housings?

Hi all,

I have a '91 4R - Is there any problem (structural, safety, etc) with supporting the rear of the car on the axle housings outboard of the diff housing, maybe halfway between the diff and coil springs?

Is there any problem with jacking under the trailer hitch? (with a floor jack, not hi-lift).
