Hey all...my new 4Runner is a 2005 Sport V8 4x4 with moonroof, spoiler, daytime running lights, and floormats, in Stratosphere Mica...or dark metallic blue. Below is a picture of it at the dealer before I drove it off. I love it so far, but I'm wondering if anyone out there has upgraded the JBL 6 disc 10 speaker system? I want to know if just adding an amp will improve the quality/loudness of the stock system? Thanks and drive safely!

What made the V8 decision for you ? Did the 05 V8 have significant improvements over the 04 ?

Why so many 04 V8s available, still on dealer lots ?

I wonder too: do you have, with a full time V8, the same heft that a manually chosen low would give ? I think I need a very low/low for an occassional slick boat ramp.

I actually was looking for the V6, but in that blue color I wanted I couldn't find any, only in white, silver, and dark grey. one dealer had one v8 4x4 sport and it was in the blue I wanted and so I purchased it, especially since it only got 1 less mph to the V6!

Yes the 2004 4Runners had a different V8 than mine. I think it had less HP but more torque than the V6. The new engine has something like 270 HP and a lot more torque...
