I wonder if anyone else has had this problem or can offer advice... The ride on my 2003 Limited 4Runner with a V8 is horrible. Every little bump in the road sends me flying literally out of my seat. I have brought it in to be serviced and they did find something wrong with the height control but it hasn't fixed the problem. My husband had a Jeep Wrangler that rode 100 times smoother. I love everything about this truck but it has me to the point where I am considering getting rid of it. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Our 98 rides harsh as well. The only thing we truly don't like about it. It seemed to ride better when new but seemed to "tighten" up when we did our first tire change. Running Michelins now and the ride is just plain butt kicking when you get on a rough road.

I had a 98 and it was so much smoother than this one. I wish I could get my 98 back. I dropped the vehicle off at the dealership this morning and was very clear I did not want it back until they fix it. I am hoping it is just my particular vehicle and it is not just a glich with that year. Thanks for your response. I'll keep the tires in mind.

the thicker the sidewall on your tire, the smoother your ride will be. also, if you have "off road" suspension, it will be stiffer. does it have very large wheels, like a 17 or 18 inch, where your older model had a 15 or so?

They are 18 inch. You are right. The 98 had smaller tires. Thanks!

My truck is at Toyota in the Service Department since Tuesday. They said the drive shaft is rubbing against the height control. The vehicle is stuck in the high mode and therefore is on the off roading suspension setting. So I have been basically driving without shocks. The said it isa $4000 job. Thank God I bought the extra warranty. They said I will get it back on Monday. I will see if it makes a difference. I will keep my fingers crossed. </P>
