Just bought a 93 3.0 2wd 4runner today that does not run. I am new to these engines and these suv's in general. I am not sure what is wrong with the engine but I saw a sticker that said the timing belt was changed at 71K in 97' and it has 164k on it now. Is there an interferance problem with these engines? If so anybody know of a good place to get engines or of a good engine swap for these suv's. Other than having to tow in order to make it move, it looks to be in very good condition. Not a ding or rust anywhere.

No the 3.0L is a non interference engine so that is good. Does the engine turn over?? If so does it sound like it has low compression? If so probably a broken tbelt
