I have a '05 SR5 4WD and there is a knock coming from the engine. I brought it into the dealership and they're telling me it's normal from the timing chain. I used to be a mechanic and it just doesn't seem right to me. For a brand new ride the noise is loud. Is anyone experiencing this or does anyone have any suggestions??? Thanks for the help!

 

do you have another dealership near enough to you to get a second opinion?

 

I am going to bring it to another dealership for a second opinion. I started running Super Unleaded fuel and the knock got a little quieter but it's still there.

 

how many times has the oil been changed?

 

The oil has only been change once. I have about 6800 miles on it.
