hey what do u guys like better for mufflers? or what else are u running

I heard that magnaflow was pretty good... flowmaster to me is a little overrated... almost everyone I know has flowmaster... it may be for good reason.. but, what could be so different about the two?

dont know but im looking for one that will sound good on the 22re

Yeah, that's the way I'm going... I'm stickin' with my 3vze too... it was just rebuilt and runs like a champ!

i'm not sure what they'd sound like on other gens., but the magnaflow sounds so sweet on my v8 4th gen.

alright i think im guna go with a magnaflow 14" or 20"

i have a magnafrow on mine. it sounds nice, like a cheap V8

rusty ... the 14" is sometimes "too loud" for certain people's
preferences ... i happen to think it isn't loud enough ... but, anyway,
heh, if you are at all concerned about it being too loud, you may want
to go with one of the longer ones like the 20".

too loud? is there a such tihng? lol but really how loud would it be on my 22re

i have no idea how loud it'd be on yours, and i really don't think mine
is "too loud" either, so it's just a personal thing i suppose.

whats up i have a 96 runner and i have flowmaster and iam realy impressed by the way it sounds but mine is a 5 speed so i dont realy no what a automatic would sound like but mine soundslikle its a small v-8&nb sp; </P>

i have a flowmaster. its really loud. deep. i dont think i gained a great deal of power though.

no mufflerchange alone will ever gain you a "greal deal" of horsepower...say you had alot of headwork done, so you had a great deal of need for high exhaust flow, maybe then, but not on a stock truck

Yeah a decent aftermarket muffler might reduce exhaust flow restriction a little bit but I doubt you would get any noticeable gains. they sounds cool though! My vote goes for Magnaflow. Flowmasters are just old school and IMO overrated. Ironically, they don't actually even flow that well. I think they are still milking their popularity from an era when just about anything aftermarket was an improvement over OEM. OEM has come a long way though. If you really want to improveflow and sound, headers and a real exhaust system, with larger diameter piping and minimal bends, all mandrel, i the way to go. However even after spending all that money, you would most likely only see a few horsepower (&lt;15) gains on a dyno, which usually reanslates into even less on the butt dyno. If your exhaust is rusted or badly dented though, I'd take it as a good excuse. Cause even if you don't gains much, there's certainly nothing wrong with a freer flowing in and out engine with a nic throaty note.

i have a magnaflow n it sounds amazing, flowmaster just sounds loud n off tone, magnaflow sounds great, if i were u go with magnaflow

Magnaflow hands down. Flowmaster is loud and gaudy. Although i obviously have a biased opinion. I have a full cat back exhaust with the magnaflow muffler and i can feel the difference.

i have a magnaflow exhaust on what has become my parts runner. its an '89 22re 4banger. definately made the truck sound balsier but didn't really add any horsepower. the truck is standard too so it made it a little more fun. no complaints about the kit but its nothing amazing either.

i tried a wicked flow on my 97 2.7 4cylinder. it had a good sound just not very loud. i wanted it loud so i had it straight piped. 2 1/2 inch pipes cat back and a 4 in diameter stainless tip. its loud and deep i am very impressed. i also have a k&amp;n cold air intake system

I have a full custom exhaust, with a flowmaster muffler. Its got a good sound, a little loud even for me on the 3.0, little too raspy. I will probably change it out after installing headers..

Sounds like most people are leaning toward the Magnaflow exhaust system. I have the 3.4 Liter, and would like a deeper sounding exhaust system.

Can somebody offer the part numbers that they used, I can't find them on their website specific to the Runner.

Also...how difficult of an installation is it? I know the TRD Cat-back is basically a bolt on wiht the same hangers, etc. How much work is involved in putting the Mag on?
