I'm in the market for new tires for my 1999 4Runner and my wifes 1998 4Runner. I want a good handling tire, and a tire that has good traction in rain and in snow. I don't go off road very often.

Here is what I'm looking at:
Michelin LTX M/S; Cooper Discoverer ATR; Goodyear Wrangler RT/S.

Does anyone drive any of these tires? What is your opinion? Is there another tire should consider? Can anyone give me some advice?

Any help would be GRATLY appreciated

I don't ever really look into A/T tires, but there are two that are pretty popular that you haven't mentioned. First is the Bridgestone Dueler Revo, though kind of expensive, people who own them live by them religiously. Second is the Yokohama A/T + II. I've heard a lot of good things about these tires. They're fairly inexpensive. One thing I've heard from one person is that they are kind of loud...?? Just thought I'd give you some mental chow.

hbunten, I know tires. Keggo was on with the Bridgestone Revo's ($157.00 range). You should also concider the Revo's sister tire ( my experience a better tire ), and cheaper, would be the Firestone Destination A/T ($110.00 range). A great tire with enough tread to get you through anything you might come across, without getting too far off the road. But still a quiet, sure ride on the pavement. I'm in Michigan with alot of different driving conditions. It's been one of the best daily drivers for me. I have run all of the Yokohama's too. If you are strickly on pavement, the YOKOHAMA H/T-S G051 ($88.00 range) would be the best value for you. Lastly, the Michelin LTX M/S ($142.00 range) is a great tire, and has more tread depth to start with than the others. And remember, ALWAYS rotote your tires every 6 to 7,000 miles!
