Hi, I'm a newbie to this chat, but I have a 2004 Sport 4x4 and it gets 26-27mpg on the hghwy and 15-16 city. My hubby is thinking we should sell it, but I really love it and I know we'll get slammed on the asking price because it seems everybody is jumping on the smaller "green" suvs that are coming out now. Has anybody sold their 4Runner recently who can let me know what the market will bear? Hubby thinks selling in the Fall will make a difference. Any ideas? Thanks, Lisa

ORIGINAL: DannyS wow i just got a 95 as well ( just over a week ago ) mine has 3.0 and 5 speed and just over 74000 miles ... on my 1st tank of gas i got 18 mpg. which i thought was not very good... i was hoping to see around 20 or maybe a little better.. i as well am all highway miles( for the most part ). dan I have had 2 2nd generation 4Runners with a 3.0 V6 and 18 mpg is just about right. On really nice days on strictly highway driving you might get 19 mpg.

Thanks, Lisa You actually get 26-27 mpg in a 2004 model? I take it that''s a V6 engine in that truck?

A few factors that limit it the mileage are: its a truck and its heavy, not much of aerodynamics, I dont know where you are but here in the N/east you have 10% ethanol in all gasoline which has less energy. even the EPA ratings wer''nt high my 91V6 auto factory window sticker show 14 city/ 18 hwy!
