I've got a stock 2007 4Runner SR5 that I'm looking to make modifications on for off-road capabilities. For tires, currently have P265/65R17 Michelins.  What's the max I can updgrade to w/o having to trim away the wheel wells for clearance? Can I even consider 33" tires?
Thanks for the feedback.

Stock 4th Ge. 4Runner will fit 365/70-R17 (32" tire). With a 3" lift, you can put 285/70-R17 (33" tires). If you want bigger, be ready to cut, grind and do other work...
I currently have 315/70-R17 with custom 4" lift.

Thanks for the feedback...Yeah, probably won't go any bigger than the 285's for now once the lift is complete. Do you have any pix available of your vehicle?  Would like to get some add'l ideas...Also curious as to whether or not you had to remove the X-REAS suspension before installing the lift...think you mentioned having a Limited 4-Runner trim.  Not an issue for mine as I just have the standard SR5 trim.

There is tons of pictures on Toyota120 forum.
Yes, I removed XREAS and happy with suspension I have now (Fox 2.5 RemRes front and custom OME with Rancho 9000XL on the back), it rides much better then stock XREAS even on 35" MT.
The only lift you can have with XREAS is spacer lift which is fine as far as you do it for looks and very rare country side (off-roading not that good when you add weight of expedition gear).

Thanks for the advice...Think I read in one of your other threads that 1.25" spacers might also be required if I stick w/ the 17" rims and 285's.  Is that right?

I'll check out pix on that other forum when I get a chance.

Thx!

If you want 285/70-R17 tires mounted on stock Toyota rims, you'd need 1.25" spacers (BTW, I have set of 4 for sale) or use aftermarket 17x8 rim with 4.5 backspacing.
