I am currently using an AEM intake which was originally was for
a Mits. Galant, but now installed in my Runner. At first I took out
the box which contained the air filter and replaced that w/ a
cone filter. There was a difference in power and better
response. Then I took out the stock tube and replaced that w/
the AEM tube. It feels like it lost power. and when I start up the
engine, usually the needle is about 3 tick makrs above the 1
rpm. Now w/ the AEM tube, the needle starts off at the 4th tick
mark from the bottom.

PLEASE HELP!
thx in advance

Yours is EFI, I assume?  Is your intake sensor hooked up or anything?  does the Mits. AEM tube have a spot to hook up the 4Runner's sensor?  If I were you, I'd take a look at that... that sensor is pretty important as to how the engine reacts.  That's how it knows how much fuel to give to the engine, I believe... Correct me if I'm wrong.
