Charging/Battery Problem? Perplexing - 4/24/2005 3:14:41 AM    Tractorshaft   Posts: 3 Joined: 4/24/2005 From: United States Status: offline Hi all, I have a 1994 4 runner that I just bought a new battery for. The darn thing was not charging with a charger but now the amp meter is reading on the high side with a new and charged battery, the lights dim when I merely turn on the wipers or heater? I just had to jump start it today? I put new terminals on the positive and negative connections to the battery but not replace the entire cables? Could the cables or voltage regulator be the problem? I dont quite understand why the alternator is showing high output yet the battery is dying? Any suggestions welcomed and encouraged! Than you in advance! Jerry Post #: 1

Perplexing - 4/25/2005 9:09:07 PM    Tractorshaft   Posts: 3 Joined: 4/24/2005 From: United States Status: offline Sorry for rambling, basically the amp meter was showing a high rate of charge, the batt. voltage was reading 12.6V static and 14.0v with the engine running.
