My 2004 limited has the6 disk changer installed in the center console. How do I remove it?

 

I have a 2004 SR5 with the 6 disk auto changer in the center console as well. However it does not seem to work... When I turn the car on, the laser appears to be on but it doesn't load a disk or anything, it just sits there. Does anybody have any suggestions on how to fix it? Or should I just look into getting an adapter for my iPhone instead?
