Default 6 cyl vs. 4 cyl 1st Gen.

im looking at a '88 toyota 4runner. It has the 3.0 liter v6 engine, although I wanted the 4 cyl 22re. Are the 6cyl engines as well reguarded as the 4s? Are theyre any inherent problems that people have with the 6 cyl? let me know. Thanks

22RE all the way! Known a couple of the V6 rigs that had major oil leaks, mainly off the front covers and rear mains.
