Engine chocking

I have a 1997 4Runner my problem is after travelling for about two hours at a speed of 120mph, the engine starts chocking, I mean reduces speed by refusing to speed more than 60mph even when I press the gass pedal to the dash board, but after stoping for a 30mins rest then it will pick up speed again but later develope the chocking feeling again, someone said its the fuel pump, should I change it, I really wonder what is happening, can anyone advice pls

RE: Engine chocking

Thanks guys I have found the problem with my engine, actually it was my fuel pump that hits up and stops pumping, after changing it, the problem stops now I can speed up all I want thanks to all you that I talked to.
