Thanks for reading my post. Iv'e got a 1995 4-runner v6 that has a knocking type noise present after replacing the head gaskets. The knocking noise was not present before hand. The engine noise is coming from what sounds like the center of the engine. Like the center unit that the timing belt tensioner goes in maybe?? I know what a knock sounds like and this is a little different. I have shorted each cylinder on its own and the sound does not change?? I also removed all of the belts trying to eliminate the noise. The noise is rotational and gets faster with rpm.

I just thought someone may have ran into this before as I am stumped.

Any thoughts?
