Engine Seized?

1992 SR5 V6, 3.0L. Engine will not crank, found it to be low on oil. The starter engages but does not cycle/engine does not crank. Believe the engine is seized up. The truck is in great condition and would hate to scrap it do to $$. I am willing to change out the engine if that is what it comes to and I can get a hold of one at a decent price. Any ideas?

If you decide you need an engine, check out "toyotacarpart.com"--they stock 3.0 V6 longblocks, professionally rebuilt, for around $1500 if I remember right (plus maybe $300 shipping if memory serves correct). It comes with a multi-year warranty. They're out of CO Sprgs, CO, and they've been doing this for a long time. If you don't know, a longblock means you get everything except the external stuff (you swap over your valve covers, intake, exhaust, and anything bolted to the outside, and ship them back what's left to recover your core charge). Best of luck!

Thanks Bucknutbob! Exactly the kind of place I've been looking for. I'll let you know how it all works out.

I'd recommend ebay for Toyota parts like a used engines or autotrader sites. Look online for sure, and don't ask repair shop to find it for you because it will cost you!! I had my 01 engine do same thing, and I found one for $1,200.
