i just bought a 95 4runner with 200,000k miles on it and when i start it thers white clouds of smoke that come out the exhaust. it also idles very wierd. i dont drive it cause ihavent gotten plates for it yet so i dont knw too much bout this. what can this be?

Coolant in the combustion chamber. Could be nothing (weather changing) could be everything!!! Everything meaning, cracked heads, cracked block, headgasket etc... etc..

Could be worn out valve guides as well. Can't tell anything is wrong until you shut the engine down, then restart sometime later on. Oil leaks down the valve stem from the head and settles on top of the piston and gets burned off upon start up-hence the smoke.
