Default Swap Question

Allright, I don't normally look into work for trucks but a friend of mine just picked up a '91 SR5 with the 3.0 V6, the 3VZE. Toyota used that engine from '88 - '95. We're looking for some more torque; I know we could drop in the 3.4 L 5VZFE, or the 4.7L V8, the 2UZFE. However, I'm interested in keeping some of the fuel economy of the smaller block. Toyota made another 3.0L V6 for the '92-'93 Camery, the 3VZFE, it was a DOHC as opposed to the 4Runners SOHC. So, my question is; will the 3VZFE swap into the 4Runnner? Do the mounts and the tranny line up? Will it fit in the engine bay? I have no idea about any of the dimensions or how anything lines up so any Toyota experts out there please, help me out here. Anything is appreciated. Thanks

Default RE: Swap Question

if your going to swap, why put in the 3.4 apples for oranges? Why not swap in a small block chevy? More torque power and if you ever need to upgrade, those are easy to find, cheap and the sky is the limit.

Here are a few things you can do for ALOT cheaper and make it run circles around the 3.4..

Check it out. http://doaracingengines.com/page12/page12.html
