Default Transmission Fluid

Re: My 2005 4Runner V6, 77,000 miles

I installed a Hayden transmission cooler this past weekend and in doing so, I lost a couple of tablespoons of fluid. Should I have my dealer top off the fluid? The bit of spilled fluid was dark brown in color, should I have it drained and replaced?

Thanks,

Wild Bill

I would def have it flushed but beware that if its brown its poss that its never been changed before and/or the trans heated up and cooked the fluid at one point. I actually flush it at home by disconnecting the cooler line in front and allowing the fluid to pour into the bucket as i pour fresh fluid into the dipstick. Seems to work out pretty good for me.
