Mud everywhere!!
So i went 4 wheelin' the other day with some friends of mine and I was suprised at how well my stock 2nd gen sr5 performed. Esp. w/ street tires. Anywho, we found some huge puddles and flew through them in 4low at about 25 mph. The car is now covered in mud and I stress the word covered. So I looked under the hood a few days later and the damn thing is brown with dried mud everywhere. I mean theres even mud under the actual hood.
I'm aware that when cleaning it, the electrical components need to be covered but whats the best way to clean it? What happens if some electric stuff does get wet? Would it be bad to spray this with a hose? pix attached.http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b1...01360Small.jpg http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b1...01359Small.jpg |
RE: Mud everywhere!!
Spray away, but be prepared to take some things apart. Alternator is a forsure to cover, distributor isnt a big deal, you can just open it up after its easy to clean....
ALSO anything you have exposed on your actual 4-runner.. Radio wires etc.. Covers for electrical fuses etc.. nice muddin job... |

RE: Mud everywhere!!
open, frayed, exposed wires contections. Anything that can make contact with water and and a ground to make problems, by shorting something out. I keep mine very clean, check out my gallery pics, I dont wash it alot, but I have a few times before......
