no pinstripes? Ever?

picking up my 2007 metallic blue sport 4Runner tomorrow. Finally dumped the Ford. 25 years ago I had an unbelievably beautiful Jeep G.W. that was also a deep metallic blue. It had a very thin bright red pinstripe and while it did not exactly jump out at anybody it was a perfect accent. It was just enough to force your eye to run down the length of the wagoneer. Now-I've been looking at 100's of 4runners from the mid 90s to 2008. I agree that many are perfect as is with no accent or pin-striping called for but SOME of the 4runners I saw could definitely have been set-off nicely by the appropriate pinstripe detail. So-as a new 4runner I was wondering: do most owners consider the design too perfect to accommodate a pinstripe? Is it considered 'tacky' and does anybody know where I can find pics of 4runners with custom finishes? I drew pinstripes on every single 4runner photo in the brochure and since I'm picking it up tomorrow I was curious about die-hard 4runner folks thoughts on this. The blue is fantastic but it seems to be calling out for a contrasting accent. Is it that there is no 'natural' line to follow with a stripe? thanks, d.a.baeker

RE: no pinstripes? Ever?

I dont think its about being a 4-runner. Pin stripes were more of a style and they all but went OUT of style quite a few years back.
