Default Question about lifting my 89?

I have a 1989 4 runner and it's bone stock, with a V6 engine, 5spd tranny. What is the best size lift for my year and what size tires should I get with the lift? I'm looking for function more than look. I live in the middle of the woods, along with alot of trails to go on. Lastly I don't want a laddler to get in it and on that would be under $2K for it all. If anyone can give me help on my decission that would be great !

I have decided to not do the lift instead I will get new tires, rims and shocks.

Default RE: Question about lifting my 89?

I own an 88 4runner and put a 2" body lift and rear leaf springs to even her out. She looks stout but needs 4" of suspension IMO. I run centerline rims w/ 32/11.50/15 AT.
