Wiring el cheapo DRL's

Running around here in the Pacific Northwet, I decided I need some sort of daytime illumination. Don't want to go the formal DRL route, though. Taking a hint from Tokyo taxicabs, I decided to install bright amber LEDs on the front bumper. (Using blue LEDs like the Tokyo cabs would get me in trouble with Johnny Law).

My preference is to have the lights come on whenever the ignition key key is in the ON position. Any ideas on where to run the pickup from? Mine's a '87 22RE

RE: Wiring el cheapo DRL's

You can run this from the Radio Ignition Cable. This cable basically is what tells the radio to only turn on when the key is turned. if u fail to connect the cable correclty you would be able to turn on the radio when the car was off Draining your battery. Old Ford econolines and other older cars were like this but u would sometimes run out of battery. This cable should be blue in color but just be sure and test it before you do your wiring.
