buy 2006 or wait for next generation?
 

I am a previous owner of 2 4Runners - a 1990 and a 1997. I am looking to becoming an owner again. Should I buy a 2006 or wait and see what the next generation model is like? I've heard that might be 2008? Anyone have any thoughts?

I've heard some banter that the new model will not be available until 2009. I have a 2006 SR5 with a whopping 5000 miles that I am extremely happy with. It is built on a truck frame for rugged offroad use if desired, but is also happy to play the soccer dad role when needed also. We bought a 1983 toyota tercel 4WD wagon new, and the application was also the same, except for a ground clearance issue. My opinion; gettem while they're hot.

check out the fj cruiser. i looked at the bottom frame and it looks almost identical to the 4runner's.
