Milage expection question

Filled up the '95 yesterday. Got a whole 11.8 mpg (3.0L V6, automatic). Is this "normal"? What kind of milage are you getting with your Runner?

Thanks.

my 90 3.0 gets around 12 to 13 miles to the gallon 32s and 3 inch body.hence to say its not a daily driver.

well if its lifted with 31's then yes that is normal, a sacrifice in gas is the price for having a rock crawler. The truck is having to push more weight than anticipated from what is in a stock 4runner.

Thanks for sharing guys, I had written a post asking this very ?, what kind of mileage can I expect with a '92 4x4 3.0 auto (if we go ahead & buy it - it needs an engine/or rebuild the one half out of it). Considering if it's worth the investment & time to upgrade my current '87 22R 4cyl. which gets about the same. It's a beater, but it does the job....

I live in BOS and my 00 4runner gets aprox 20mpg street/highway. I find the winter gas here as well as having the heat or ac on also erodes mpg's. During the winter when "they" change the gas mixture's I steadily get less mpg's.

I noticed that as well Bolt. I seem to lose almost 1.5 mpg city/hwy. I drive an '05 SR5 4x4 with the 4.0 liter. I tend to monitor it to the point of ridiculous-ness though. In the summer months I get around 18.5-19mpg but during the colder months it slips to 17.3-18.5. And of course I had to make a long winter drive so I could throw away "engine warm up loss", lol. I noticed I also lose close to the same amount with my Thule box on the roof. Damn degredation of aerodynamics.

Should be getting 20 on the hwy,,in town about 14,,I am just guessing since my odometer hasn't budged in 3 years..Keeping it tuned and a clean airfilter makes a world of difference. I just know I have to fillup every 2 weeks
