i have a few questions.first of all last year i had the head gasket pop(who would guess-3.0 huh)i replaced it, the water pump, and thethermostat.well the problem is i dont think my temp gauge is working right.during the summer it warmed up and held at its normal spot, but now that its cooled off it almost never heats all the way up sometimes it says that is still cold though the heater is blowing hot air.second is, can you put aftermarket gauges in this?im looking at getting some of them as a back up so can i keep the factory ones and still hook the aftermarkets up?appericate the help in advance.

Man you can get an aftermarket gauge for ANYTHING.....

Most wont let you keep your factory hook-ups, sometimes you can get away with sensor location and fitment but thats about it.

Or I guess you said backup, you can drill it and tap it anywhere you like, temps for water I always did at the LOWEST point since it tends to be more accurate and also after the engine block and not before it meaning before the radiator and not after.

thanks for the help i guess ifthey replace the current factory gauges maybe i can block them out in the cluster so that they wont be noticed for not working

You may want to start by replacing the temp sending unit. How much could it cost? Once you start wiring around stuff - expecially gauges - it's hard to ever go back. You may just have a bad connection at the unit. May the little clip is just not making good contact.
