antenna froze
My antenna froze and now it will not go up/down. I can hear the motor running when I turn the ignition on and off. I pulled the antenna (only) from the fender and it has a 5-6 inch white plastic piece that is disconnected from the motor…..I think
Does anybody know a step-by step procedure on how to fix it? Where can I buy the parts? HAPPY HOLIDAYS! Dakrri |
antenna froze
Hey! How's it going? I know a lot of people are actually just putting whip antennas on their runners... So, You could just buy a replacement... or, if you really want to fix it, check out http://www.yotatech.com!

Thanks Keggo, I'll check that site.
I could keep the antenna I have, and just cut the power wire to the motor. Anybody know were that wire would be? I can't pull the fuse because that controls a few other things. |
antenna froze
the motor should have wires going into it at the bottom just cut the hot wire and tape it of and then fasten it to the motor so one day if you want to fix it you can just hook the wire back up

I had this same problem - the "mast" as they call it broke so won't go up. Where can I find the parts to install a whip antenna? BTW I've got a '95....

antenna froze
That happened to my 92 Runner. I tried a couple of different antennas and various parts stores, the only one that I found to work well because of the slope and angle of the hole in the fender is one from Pep Boys. The base is almost 90 degrees from the fender and the mast screws into a threaded section 90 degrees from the mast. Worked great! Good luck!
