Had a brake failure, abs and brake lights came on, high pitched alarm going off. no movement in brake pedal. can get it to stop vehicle if just coasting but have to push extremely hard. Mechanic says " abs pump and says part is 4000 bucks" had codes read and they are as follows:

c1223- malfunction in abs control
c1251- pump motor is locked/open circuit
c1252- hydroboost pump motor malfunction
c1256- accumulator low pressure malfunction
c1336- 0 point calibration of yaw rate sensor undone
c1340- open circuit in center diff lock signal

any help would be appreciated

Sounds about right, check EBAY or online for a cheaper one.

update

I purchased a used abs pump/master cylinder unit on ebay and had it delivered to Nova Scotia, and then paid a mechanic to install it. All together for the part, delivery and repair cost me about
$1100 after tax. Not bad at all considering Toyota wanted 4000 plus tax just to buy the part.

It has been working great ever since.
