Does using the Dual A/C hurt your MPG?

I have an 04 Limited 4runner with the Dual A/C function. It is fantastic! But I'm curious if it kills my gas mileage or not. Anybody have a clue if it runs two seperate A/C systems or is it just smarter and runs more efficiently?

Thanks!

right, i understand that. but does running the dual controls, hurt it even more? Or is it the same gas mileage it would get without dual?

nope not unless you had 2 compressers all it does is run another little fan to blow in the back
