Default E-Brake Light Sporadically Coming On

Occassionly my parking brake light is going on even though the brake level is the down position. So this is more annoying than anything really as far as I can tell, but seriously...

It's seems to only happen when its below 40 degrees F, happening more often the colder it is out. Has anyone encountered this on their truck or any other vehicle?

The same thing is happening to my uncles 97 Chevy 1500 Z71 and my girlfriends 00 S10 Blazer. I have spent hours messing with them and I can't find anything at all. I've even replaced sensors adjusted the brakes drained the brake fluid, cleaned outthe system, filled it back up, bled the brakes a few times and I can't figure it out. I decided it is because they are "stupid chevys".

The brake light has 2 functions, lets you know the parking brake is on, and lets you know when the brake fluid is low. Check your fluid level. If it checks out OK, then the sensor is suspect.

Didn't someone here on 4RF trace his intermittent brake light to abum sensor

I have a 95 and I have the same problem. Nothing wrong with the brakes at all but my light likes to go on and off at will.

BlackCat01- check the Fluidlevel firstand then mess with the E-brack handle when its down. If those dont work its then uplug the cap on the M/C that will let you know which one it is.
