Default Engine Removal Help

My wife has a 1993 4 Runner with the 3.0 V-6 and automatic tranny. We are trying to get the "bad" engine out so we can get the "new" motor in. I have all the tranny bolts out, motor mounts are disconnected, all the hoses and wires are disconnected. But something is definitely still holding it in. The starter is still in. I took out the 2 bolts from the back, but there looks to be another bolt coming in from the front that might still be holding the starter in. Will the starter prevent the motor from coming out? Also, people keep talking about a "flex plate". Is the flex plate located inside the bell housing? If so, how do you unbolt it? Through the hole that would be created by removing the starter? Any help would be greatly appretiated as I am not used to Toyota!! Thanks in advance...
