how well can the 4runner pull a boat?

I currently own an 01 Tundra with the i-force V8. I have about a 3500 - 4000 lb boat on a single axle trailerI tow it with. My Tundra pulls it no problem.Taking a new job where I need an SUV.I'm looking into trading into a 4runner but I'm unsure just how well the V6 or V8 4runnerwill pullmy boat. Anybody else pull a boat with a4runner?

Thanks

RE: how well can the 4runner pull a boat?

I have an 03 sport V6 and every weekend it is pulling a trailer (2 ATV's) about 1500lb or my boat about 3000 lbs. I don't feel the atv's but i can notice the boat allittle bit. I just got the air bags for the back and they helped out alot. I think you will notice your boat on a V6. One word of advice getthe airbags they help alot. I think the V6 are good up to 5000lbs and the V8 7400lbs. Hope that helps.

I bought the 07 Limited V8. I pull about 4500lbs with NO problem. The 5-speed tranny is great and good power through 4th grear. Mileage is about the same as my '98 Jimmy V6.

Good Luck
