knock sensor in '03 4runner v6, removal?
 

Hello,

I have a 2003 4Runner V6, I need to remove the knock sensor because a cable in the connector is broken. I am half way taking it apart but there is a coolant pipe assembly in the middle of the V that I can't remove. Does it required to remove the cylinder head? Any light on this will be very much appreciated.

How did the wire break? or?

Otherwise toyota puts the knock sensor in a DUMMY location, but the upper manifold probably needs to come off.

I dont know the specifics on the 03, but probably the same. Get a chitlon manual.
