Default Rear window issues

Replaced my smashed up tailgate/ hatch with a straight one... now the back window will not work off the switch. Changed out the entire guts from the old one, that worked perfectly before, same thing![:@]Spliced into the window motor wiring and run a hot wire direct to a battery on the front floor, works smooth and quiet! Reverse the connections, window goes the other way... what am I missing here????? [&:]

Are you talking about the circuit breaker in the drivers side kick panel? If so, that checked out good.

the relay operates the wiper, washer fluid, and the rear window you said you changed all the guts from your original tailgate so that leaves out the option of it being a newer model tailgate because if im not mistaken after 92 the relay box changes and it wont work with an older model. one thing i would do is trace the wire back to the relay from the motor making sure there is no pinch in it. if not just open the relay and make sure that the any of the relays inside are not bad, like mine it was very obvious that one was burned up though the wiper and fluid still worked. good luck

replaced the 89 with a 86 model year tailgate. Everything was the same between the two as far as I could tell. Put all the original 89 stuff back in... that worked perfect before... and still nothing, might just have to go and get a DPDT switch and figure out how to wire it in. I'm sure it is something simple and stupid, but I 'll be damned ifI can tell what it is!!!
