HI,
Looking for help on why my 98 4runner shakes,I just had all wheels balanced, with new bridgestone dueller revos
I had a allignment done, these seemed to make it better but it still shakes, you can feel it in the seats and the steering wheel shakes side to side, this shake does not happen all the time, some times you can drive for miles at the same speed and its fine,Mechanics say it might be in the steering rack,I don't know, anyway any help out there.
Thanks.

Tim

I just bought a '97 4Runner and have experienced the exact same problem. I am also getting brake pulsation even after putting new rotors and drums on! I love this thing, but thought I would be able to resolve these issues. If you get any answers or help I would sure appreciate it if you would foward the information to me @

it might be a bent or warped drive shaft or slightley warped rotors you might want to check those out and also were your drive shaft goes into you rear end there is a bolt in there and i know they can get loose somehow but if you shake your drive shaft and it does more than just rotate then you can take your drive shaft out and tighten that up thats the only thing i can think of hope you figure out what it is

I had a problem with vibration when I first purchased my 96 4Runner, At 60 mph. I was lucky at the time becouse I still had warranty left. Toyota Tech'sended upperforming a viration analyses. They ended up installing a new steering rack, changed all the tires and rims and machined the rotors the tires they installed were Dunlops 265/75/16" (factory designed size). Just 2 months ago I installed a pair of Yokahama tires and my front end has started viberating at 70mph. You are not alone, big tires and lots of large rotating shafts cause a lot of centrifugal forces. I would go to a front end specialist that you trust and check the streering rack first becouse they do wear mine was changed at 70,000miles.If you got a buddy who is willing to install his tires on your truck providing they fit, you can illiminate tire vibration probability.
