Default Tail light wont work when parking lights are on

I have a 1996 4Runner, Im having a problem with the right rear tail light. It wont work when I turn on the parking lights but will work when I hit the brakes. I have checked all the fuses and theyre fine, checked the light bulb and its good. Help please!!!!!

You might want to double check the bulb. Your park (running) lights and brake light work off of ONE bulb i think (i'm pretty sure) It has two filaments (spelling?) one operates the not so bright park lights (which probably burned out) and when you tap the brakes the second filament that is the brighter filamant lights up . Just replace the bulb and it should fix it, besides it's only about $2 to try it before you go on to other more expensive ideas on how to fix this problem.

on second thought, instead taking the time to go buy a new bulb to figure it out, just pull the bulb out of your other tail light that works and put it in the one that's not working to test it out. That's how you'll know instantly!!
