TDC Issue - 1992 4 Runner
Hey Everyone! This is my first post, and I am sorry if this has been covered before, but I wasn't able to find any answers in the search menu. :-)
I am changing the water pump in my 1992 4Runner as it fell apart a few weeks ago. As you all know changing the water pump involves the timing belt amongst other items. When I lined up Top Dead Center, I noticed that not all of the marks lined up.
I moved the crank pulley clockwise until the notch lined up with the 0 at TDC. I also checked the distributor cap and the distributor also matched TDC. The problem is both of my crankshafts seem to be quite a ways off. I am afraid to go any further and was wondering if any of you could come to the rescue. What should I do to fix this?
Thanks!!!
