I have a 95 4runner, v6 4wd, manual trans. I recently had the tranny replaced, and now have a loud noise coming from what sounds like the transfer case. Only when moving, and does not change with speed or rpm. It sounds almost like something free spinning. I found today that the noise goes away when placed in 4wd. Fluids are ok, and nothing obviuos to see. Any ideas?

 

yeah..take it back to whoever did the tranny work. if the noise wasnt there prior to the work, i would think that it has to be something caused by the work.
