TRIED to install a new head unit.....2000 SR5 and yeah
 

So I decided to take everything apart to install my new stereo, and I managed to screw something up. I really have no clue what. I noticed there was one wire not plugged into anything, but I have no clue where it could go, it's near the base where the amp is. Here's some pictures that I hope clears some things up......


So now the radio doesnt turn on, the dash doesnt light up at night. *The lights inside dont turn on....yeah * :\

Behind your factory HU there is a factory amp (approx 3x5x1 metal box). There are two plugs going into that. You need to unplug them and plug them into your new HU. You can unscrew and remove the factory amp, it will not be needed anymore as the new HU most likely has built in power. As for the lights, try checking your fuses, both under the dash and under the hood. You may have blown one of them, it happens pretty frequently.
Also just a heads up, but only one of your factory antennas is going to plug into your new HU. You can get an adaoter for both, but will most likely only need the one.
