88 Runner Pass Seat Fix or Replace
The cable on my 88 Runner pass seat broke and it wont slide into the forward position to make room for someone to get in the back seat. Any idea how to fix or should I just look for a replacement via junk yard or ? Are there seats I can use from other Yota's (other than 86-89 Runners) or other models that will fit without much work? Thanks.

Mine is the same and I would like to see a fix for this too.
I got a seat from the junkyard out of an 88 X-Cab PU and it was different underneath, longer too. I've thought about putting a loop in the cable and finding a way to re-attach it, but haven't got around to it yet. Good luck. Phil |
I have the same problem as well.
I have started playing with this problem by using a standard brake cable from a bicycle but the problem lies with attaching the two ends together. I found that the surviving pieces from the junkyard are in the same or worse shape than mine is now. I anyone figures this one out please let me know and I will do the same.

better replace the cable since they were not in good shape right now. that will do for now.
