2016 4 Runner Shocks and Struts
 

Hello, I’m a new member and own a 2016 Limited Edition 4 Runner. I had my local Alignment and Frontend shop change out the 2 struts and 2 shocks on my 4 Runner with original oem parts from Toyota/ Lexus this is a very complex system and the shop wasn’t aware that the complete system needs to be changed out. Shocks, Control valve modules that interlink the shocks because they are pressurized to 2000 psi and talk to each other; right front to left rear and left front to right rear and two centralized control module blocks. The shop only changed out the 4 shocks and now the car is bouncing around like it has no shocks at all.
i took it to my Local Toyota dealer to have looked at and they are telling me the shocks are ruined because the whole complete system should have been replaced with a total of $4500.00 and this is why I didn’t let them do it to begin with.
now I’m back at square one! My question now is this, can I add aftermarket good quality shocks on this vehicle and do away with this high tech system and does anything need to be disconnected electronically wise?
