BIG plans

Hi Guys. Im the owner of a 95 3.0 sr5. I bought it with around 170k on the clock and newly rebuilt heads.

I proceeded to thrash the 4runner and generally abuse it, as I was 17. I loved the damn thing.

I built coil spacers for the sagging rear and tightened up the front end to level it out. Its almost 2 inches higher than stock.

Then it happened, I sunk it in a mud hole, and it happened. You guessed it, hydrolock.

SO i pull the engine, who would have known? 2 bent rods.

rebuilt engine, new lower rod end bearings, main bearings, rings, and rebuilt heads.

After the rebuild the engine is good, but the old wiring harness is brittle and gone to hell, shorting out and killing ignition. That and the fact im getting about 13 mpg.

HERE IS THE PLAN.

Drop in an all aluminum ls1 v8. Its a very common engine, plus its about the same weight as the iron 3.0. Im sure you are all aware of the v6 downfall, Toyots's downfall.

Also gonna go in with the ls1, a manual tranny. I cant stand automatics.

Stiffer torsion bars up front, longer coils out rear.

Cut and re welded fender wells, to clear 33's with minimal lift. Primarily a street vehicle so i wanna keep the COG low.

Tube bumpers, front rear, and rocker sliders.

Work should begin after I have another surgery on my leg, its mangled at the moment.

what you people think?
