Hi all,I have a 2000 4runner,and new to this forum.I bought him about 5 years ago with 118k on the clock.I wasn't afraid of the milage because it was in really good condition, and well maintained.I had a 86 4runner and put 265K on him before I got this one,and I could have gone way more.I just wanted more creature comforts.I've always done my own work on him.As a matter of fact,I work on all my stable. 1986 Corvette,1966 Mustang,1991 Chevy Suburban,my wife's 2008 Chevy Trailblazer dosn't count,I don't touch that thing.I use to work at a stealership years ago,and I just can't stand the thought of them doing anything to my rides(unless it's under warrantee). I have decent tools, not the best anymore, and certainly not everyone I need.I do have air in my shop, and that's a plus.
Well,my horse is getting older, and I figured I better look for some help on working on him.Got the FSM,and a Haynes, which is fast ,and good enough for the easy stuff.OBDII,I love it and hate it.I don't have a real scan tool, like a Vetronix.Just one of those cheap code readers.I'd love to get my hands on a real Toyota scan tool, but I just can't do a couple of grand right now.So I guess this is where this forum comes in.I will need help sometimes. And whatever I learn,I will try to pass on.Well, that's about it.Thanks for letting me join up,and thanks in advance for any help.I know how to do a search,so I hopefully won't bug you too much.

I have been changing my own oil and filters for many years also do my own grease jobs. Just traded off a really worthless 03 Sorento on a new 08 2wd V6 SR5 4Runner. I also have a 1982 fullsized Bronco with the large V8 it only has 46K miles. I also have a hands on work back ground, and try to do as much as I can but now days it becomes harder to do some things yourself.

What are your plans for the new 4Runner?
