Thieves apparently dislike Toyota Prius, as Prius theft rates very low

If one desires an automobile no thief will imagine touching, look at a Toyota Prius. Prius theft rates are lower, by many occasions over, than almost any passenger vehicle. Have you been trying to sell or buy a used or new auto? If this relates to you, don’t go any place else before you take a look at ******** used cars. Nobody would like to steal a hybrid

The Toyota Prius is a boring car. It has hardly any cargo room, emissions are low and it takes forever to get to highway speed. Yes, it gets good gas mileage, but there is more to a vehicle than that. There is nothing as irritating as one example, so the good car does not seem to cut it.The Toyota Prius robbery rate is really low, most likely for these factors. For most vehicles, 1 in 78 will get stolen. For a Prius, only 1 in every 608 units gets stolen, according to the National insurance Crime Agency.

Stealing Prius never occurs

According to Inside Line, a total of 2,439 thefts have been recorded between September of 2000 and June 2012 of Prius cars. The NICB report concentrates mostly on the 2008 through 2010 model years, though data from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration shows that hardly anybody has been stealing the Prius for the majority of the past decade. To Get The Leading Sale On A new Car, Van, Truck or SUV Have A Look At Loan Calculator Auto Now!

The NHTSA website does a terrible job of displaying the facts, but they were listed. In fact, the Toyota Prius robbery numbers have been increasing a ton. There were only 7 Prius stolen of the 2000 and 2001 model year. By 2010, there were 78 stolen during the year. There was a gradual increase over the years, but it is clear that more people are interested in the Prius. By way of comparison, there were 206 2007 Tacoma pickup thefts and 1,003 Camry and Solara thefts for that model year.

Great recovery rate

It is really hard to part out a Prius, like you would with regular stolen automobiles. This might be one reason why Prius vehicles are often recovered, unlike other stolen automobiles.

According to AutoGuide, there is a 96.7 percent recovery rate. This might also have to do with the truth that thieves understand they do not want the car after all. When you go to another dealership, and get your Prius, you will not have to be concerned about getting the car stolen.

So the Prius never gets stolen because it's too boring? I guess as it's driving off no one would even hear it with the engine being so silent...

Thieves can't figure out how to get the things started and moving. I remember the first time I first drove a Prius. It took several minutes to acclimate to the vehicle and figure out how to drive the darn thing. It took several times before I finally learned how to recognize if the vehicle was even running. I can't imagine that a good car thief would sit around for 10 minutes trying to figure out how to steal the darn car. Add to this the fact that they aren't exactly the quickest getaway vehicles in the world, and it isn't a big surprise that few are stolen. I would agree that they would be one of the quietest vehicles to get away in, however.
