Default '86 4cylinder to 6cylinder conversion?

I have an 86 4runner with a 22re non-turbo. The engine has 200,000 miles on it and the timing chain needs to be replaced. I figured that I should just go ahead and replace the engine. I am buying a rebuilt one from Rhino engines and was wanting to know if I can put a 6cylinder in instead of a 4cylinder. Is it possible? How hard would it be? and what are the modifications?

no man there is no more power. If you want more drop a chevy 350 in there, its cheaper too and alot more power.

Plus the 22re has a lot of mods available and even gets better gas mileage.

Check here for some modshttp://doaracingengines.com/page2/page2.htmland then also check here to get some more info. http://www.pirate4x4.com/forum/

Damn man I would trade you my brand new rebuild thats in the shop for your broken down 22re haha I got the 3.0 V-6 with 10000 problems..
