I have an '86 4runner with a 22RE 1.9L engine. The trans (5 speed manual) is shot but I think can get a transmission from an '86 2.4L (22RE?) with a W series transmission. Are these transmissions on in the same?

 

I myself think so!!I had a 84 Susposed to be 22r But someone had put a 20r out of a celica in it everything worked fine.. It was a 5speed so it should bolt right up

can anyone make a list for all transmissions that are bolt up interchangable?

I have a 90 ATX 2WD 22RE that needs to be replaced. This would be helpful for me to go shopping with...if there is someone who can give some details taht would be awesome!!
