Can you take the step off of a white 2000 limited 4runner?

Default Can you take the step off of a white 2000 limited 4runner?

On my 2000 limited white 4runner, theres a bottom step that is on every limited 4runner and i was wondering if you could take it off. The reason i want to is because i like the way a 1999 4runner looks with a lift Kit so i want to take this off and make my car look like that.
Thanks

I know my friend lifted his...but I don't remember him taking off the step. Did someone say it had to be removed?

Toyota is a bit of a challenge at times with things such as this, especially when it is a limited edition of some type. I can't say for certain, but based on my past experience with Toyota I would bet that you are unable to take a step off. These are typically permanent fixtures that I have heard more than a handful of people complain about. You aren't the only person I have met that has wanted to remove steps from their 4Runner and not have the ability to do so. Toyota includes these as extras in a variety of their vehicles, as well.
