1998 Suspension Issue
I have a 1998 Limited and have noticed that not just my year but others tend to sag a bit in the rearend... is this just a 4Runner issue that needs to be addressed with stiffer springs in the rear? Should just the rear be addressed, or all around, new springs and shocks? I plan on keeping the vehicle, I bought it with 50K on in and have only 120K now, so it's still a baby, and pretty cherry. I welcome any advice you may have. -Thanks

RE: 1998 Suspension Issue
I've actually wondered the same thing. My truck isn't facing this issue yet, but I do agree it seems many have the sag in the rear eventually. 120k isn't that absurd though to need to address something like this though. Maybe just something that can handle a bit more weight day in and day out.

Just going off experiance as a tech but you are right about the springs. They support the weight of the vehical, and apperently the rear ones on the older runners wear out pretty quick. So yes, stronger, not exactly stiffer, need to be installed to fix this. Its not a bad idea to do all four.

I'm wondering what product is available that would be at stock comparison of stiffness.
