I am looking at buying a 1st generation 4runner. I have a 3rd generation now so I want to sell it and use any left over cash to put into a 1st gen purchase. My question is kind of vague but I hope you can help. I was wondering whether or not it is going to be a huge hassle to keep up a 1st gen in decent condition? I am not really car smart at all but all my buds are mechanics. I want to make it into something I can basically cruise and occasioanlly offroad but more of a fun, really clean cruiser. I am hoping to have about 4k to put into it and I am curious as to whether or not that will get me much and if it will enable it to be in ggod enough condition to basically run on it's own without constant tinkering?
